random.: December 2004 Archives
Sorry no posts for the last couple days folks! I was out of town for the holiday and just haven't gotten back into blogging since. I've been thinking and writing quite a bit lately actually, just nothing suitable for public consumption.
My Christmas was fabulous. The family all gathered in one cozy house and ate and laughed and exchanged gifts. The only thing lacking was wine, which I believe everyone thought everyone else was bringing. All in all it was wonderful in a very Brady Bunch idyllic family Christmas sort of way.
We did manage to make it to church on Christmas morning where I listened as the priest managed to bring up abortion, the miracle of spreading Christianity to the Aztec, and that the reason people were depressed in the winter was because of a lack of god in their lives (of course it has NOTHING to do with the cold darkness...), all in the span of an hour. I can't stand this guy. Its not that I dislike priests - all sex scandals aside, I think they are mostly good people trying to do good things in the world. But every time I listen to this guy, he seems to offend me. He's very haughty and self-righteous and seems to be anything but welcoming and inclusive.
In a couple nights we will celebrate the New Year arnd the holiday season will draw to a close - which will be nice. I could use the rest.
So I got it. And I'm never ever taking it off.
Its warmer than the boyfriend, softer than the boyfriend, and snuggle-ier than the boyfriend. The boyfriend has been replaced.
Sorry boyfriend.
Penguins are very hip right now apparently. This isevidenced by the fact that in the last two days I have come across TWO different websites involving these funny little birds.
If you see no penguins in the second link, keep watching. Feeding time is the best.
[Edited to add: They are also, unfortunately, showing up in the news]
Adorable little distractions...
