Since I seem to be collecting more and more readers all the time (thank you thank you thank you!) I thought maybe I should put up a little intro, because I know its bloody irritating when you try to read a blog and have no idea what the hell the person is talking about or where they are coming from.
So here is everything you need to get started: I'm a third year law student at a University in the midwest. After a few Ironman finishes (and a few Ironman non-finishes) I am getting back to my roots and heading off-road. I'm brushing up on the mountain bike skills in the hopes of trying out Xterra and mountain bike racing next year. I am engaged to my best friend in the whole world, and couldn't be happier. I love the outdoors, coffee, and my puppydog.
This blog isn't anonymous in that anyone who knows me in real life would have no problem figuring out who I am. It is anonymous in the fact that searching Google for my name won't make this blog show up. I don't clearly state the name of the law school I attend, but anyone with any knowledge of midwest geography or Google know-how ought to be able to figure it out if they're that curious. Suffice to say, I live in a wonderful town that I love dearly and attend a University that I'm closely tied to.
I don't have the huge readership volume that other blogs have, but, as I said earlier, I'm getting more and more readers all the time. I check my stats daily and love trying to figure out who is visiting. Some of you are pretty obvious (I can't imagine that I have that many readers in Alaska) but some of you have me completely miffed as to who you are and how you found me. Now that I've introduced myself to you, feel free to introduce yourself to me (or give me a heads up as to who you are if I already know you...). No pressure of course, but I love getting comments and am genuinely curious as to who is visiting my little blog.

Posted by: ivanhoe at December 13, 2004 9:09 AMHi - I'm responding to your request that those who read your blog, fess up and introduce themselves.
Ok, I found your link on the trinewbies message board. I'm not a regular poster to that site, just a regular reader. I've read the site for a while, and this year/season finally joined a tri club and raced 3 events in the Michigan. I've met lots of wonderful, helpful and inspiring people and love reading their stories. I like learning how others balance this crazy/intense/addictive world of tri with regular life of work/school/relationships/responsibilies and maintain sanity and balance. Congrats on conquering the first semester of L-school by the way.
If I ever take the time to start a blog of my own, I'll email you a link, so you can learn more about me and my training, as I enjoy reading your blog. I've always kept a journal and this seems similar with random thoughts and records of daily accomplishments.
Nice to meet you-
Tri girl in the midwest
yes it's true. a boy can be jelious of an article of clothing. but do note i WAS listed before that damn poodle on THIS blog post. take that, fleecey.
i am the boy and the boy i am. when i'm not in super-hero-pampering-law-student-mode, i too am a member of the swimBikeRun world. a graduate of a certain university who's certain new arena was named after a certain evilcorporation heir who cheated her way thru a certain other university only to have her name removed from said certain arena.
computer geek, not a english geek. "i am so smart. s-m-r-t. DOH!"

Posted by: NateP at December 14, 2004 3:28 PMI found you blog because josh found mine scoping out things for the two of you to do in CO! I'm new to blogging, learning about this phenomenon. Given your racing history come out the 5430 sprint triathlon on Sunday (see my blog). There are some nice events out here, and once you get used to the elevation you might enjoy it! I agree - many uber athelets are in CO, but I'm not one of them. I'm a 40 something tri-er.
Welcome to Colorado.....it's lovely isn't it....I moved here almost 10 years ago and I felt like I'd hit the jackpot. How come I got to be so lucky to live in such an amazing place?
